The vowel this week is short "i".  We will be working on Plot, Summarizing, the sound of "x" and "ks", subjects of sentences, and writing a Fantasy Story.  Reinforcing any of these skills at home would be very helpful.

A Little First Grade News

Hello Parents!

Just a friendly reminder to bring back the RED homework folders on Friday mornings to earn a Blue Buck.  Reading log should be included in that folder.

We are also in need of class snacks.  Most of the parents have voted to have class snack, so we will try to stick with that this year.  Any contribution to the snack supply would be great!

And, last but not least, if you have any little toys that you would like to get rid of - Happy Meal toys, old matchbox cars, DVD movies you don't watch anymore - we would love to have them for the Treasure Tub.  They have great "Treasure Tub" toys at the party supply store, dollar stores and Big Lots.

It's A New School Year!

We're getting ready for a new school year! 

I'm in the classroom getting things together for the kids, who are coming later in the week.  There's lots to do but it's all coming together!
